Liverpool v Arsenal league cup game
|
Postponed due to Liverpool saying they can’t fulfil the fixture.
Klopp complains about fixture pile up. Then a few days later they start requesting games get postponed.
They play their kids in the early rounds and yet don’t want to in the semi final.
Leyton Orient had to forfeit their earlier round clash against spurs for the same reason.
In case you hadn’t realised, the game is run by Crooks.

I don't like Garth Crooks, but unreasonable to pin this on him

Newcastle set this standard (this season) when they had 2 players out with covid and got their game called off as they had a load of other injuries.
I agree, they should be playing their kids.
But blame the Premier League for allowing the clubs to take the piss and get a break, not the clubs for doing it.
I really hope the Premier League insist of all these postponed games having to be completed before the season ends, meaning it bites them on the arse with fixture pileups, but I have a horrible feeling their going to bend over for the clubs and extend the season for them.

Liverpool didnt care about the cup when they sent the kids out against Villa a few seasons back......so not sure why they care about it so much now
They should be playing the game, as should everyone.

Liverpool need to be guaranteed a place in Europe to "fly the flag" for the country (and rake in lots of lovely money for the PL/government).

The Orient game was last season and the rules have changed since then.

As for them playing the kids, I’d rather them not have to do that and give Arsenal a free pass to the final.
Hoping for a Liverpool v Chelsea final.

Poor Liverpool - it’s never their fault.

This postponement does them no favours and I don't think they even have enough kids to play unless you include the U16's team.
No issue as it's a semi and makes their coming weeks even more congested, lucky they don't have the league to concentrate on now!

The whole thing has now had matches called off for a mixture of both dog is and injuries, but some forced to play games. Newcastle having games called off so they get players in is wrong.

If anything, this highlights the fact that those administering and in authority of the game don't have a fucking clue of how things work in the real world.

Give it two weeks and all these cunts begging for games to be called off will be moaning about fixtures piling up.
Cant have it both ways, either fulfill your fixture obligations or play once every 3 days to catch up.

Good point.
We fulfil all our fixtures this month an we'll "only" have 15 PL games left to play.
I suspect the FA Cup will become a side issue (Yes, I know, but....) as we chase CL via both the league and Europa.

So AFCON players missing hasn't been factored in then as well . IT's all down to Covid then.

New as soon as Salah and Mane went to Africa then Liverpool would want games postponed,

The whole postponing games thing has been an absolute debacle. No rules it seems as to how many players need to be unavailable and why (just COVID? plus injuries? good players off to AFCON?). I am guessing clubs have been able to hide behind 'medical confidentiality' with COVID results and it seems obvious that some teams have gamed it and got games off when it suited them (yes, Spurs). Newcastle are OBVIOUSLY trying to delay until they can get reinforcements in and Wilson & St Maximin available. And I dont trust Liverpool Have always said any postponed games should be rearranged to be played by the end of the following month. And if they cant ... its a forfeit

Leicester vs Burnley off.
Burnley don't have 13 available players.
I smell bullshit.
Hassenhutl had a good idea. No player signed after 31st December should be allowed to play in a match that was supposed to have been played before the transfer window opened.
